    • Walter Henry Fowler, 64, 431 S Warren Avenue, died at hishome Tuesday evening after a lingering illness.
      He was born August 19, 1891, in St. Joseph County, Indiana,the son of Maurice and Dora Fowler. He was married to AliceM Pangborn May 21, 1913.
      He entered the Evangelical conference in 1919, and servedas pastor in Vicksburg, Whittaker and Hersey, Mich. He thentransferred to the Methodist conference in 1939, and servedas pastor at Barryton, Howard City and Stanwood. He hadbeen appointed to the Stanwood church at the time he tookill last fall.
      He is survived by his wife, Alice, a son Darrell, Anaheim,California, and 10 daughters, Mrs. Wilma Andreson, BigRapids; Mrs. Katherine Storrs, Omaha, Nebraska; Mrs.Eleanor Bush, Stanwood; Mrs. Geraldine Bishop, Stanwood;Mrs. Marjorie Sweadas, Grand Rapids; Mrs. Phyllis Deiters,Holton; Mrs. Pauline Bush, Grand Rapids; Miss MarilynFowler, Big Rapids; Mrs. Janice Morton, Grand Raids. Thereare 26 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Abrother, John Fowler, lives in Niles and a sister, Mrs.Myrtle Huff lives in Buchanan.
      Funeral services will be held from the First MethodistChurch Friday at 1 pm, Rev. E. Lenton Sutcliffeofficiating. Burial will be made in Highland View Cemetery.
      Friends may call at the Carr Funeral Home tonight and untilnoon Friday, when the body will be removed to the church.
