	Harley G. Schoonmaker, 63, of Gladwin, died suddenlyTuesday, Oct. 9, 2001 at MidMichigan Medical Center -Gladwin. He was born April 11, 1938 to Julian and Viola(Strong) Schoonmaker in St. Louis, Michigan. He marriedKristine Nelson Nov. 12, 1960 in Boyne City and worked as amachine operator at General Motors in Lansing. He retiredin 1988 after 32 years and the couple moved to GladwinCounty from Bath. He is survived by his wife; four sons, Brian of Standish,Scott and wife Melanie of Lansing, David and wife Norine ofLansing, John and wife Patricia of Gladwin; eightgrandchildren; two great grandchildren; his parents; asister, Patricia and husband Don of Lansing; and severalnieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Friday, Oct. 12, 2001 at 2 p.m.at the Hall Funeral Home in Gladwin with Pastor TonyReynolds officiating. Burial was in Highland Cemetery inGladwin.

I show Viola's birthdate as 1917. I'm not sure where I gotthis (probably from Velma or Orlin). I don't have the dayand month. I show Harley born in and Patty in . Iknew she was really close to my age. They loved to standthe two of us next to each other and take our picture. I amstill jealous of her long dark curls. I was bald until Iwas five I think and what hair I did have was so light youcouldn't see it. I remember they used to curl her hair withrags.
I haven't seen any of them in years and years. I think Jimmentioned that he talked to Viola at Nina's funeral. Hesaid she was really active and in good health at that time.I think she was born in Gladwin County so I'm not sure whyI don't have her birth date recorded from the courthouse.

Julian Bernard Schoonmaker, 92, passed away peacefully inLansing on Aug. 14, 2006, with his beloved wife Viola, athis side. Born in Merrill, Mich. on Jan. 16, 1914.
Julian was preceded in death by his parents and five of his10 brothers and sisters as well as his son anddaughter-in-law Kristine Schoonmaker. He is survived by hisdaughter and sonin-law Patricia and Donald Wolgamott, aswell as seven grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, andseven great-great grandchildren. Julian will be missed byall.
There will be cremation and no service.
