  Notes	Piercy was postmaster and merchant in Johnson City, Missouri (according to St. Clair County History written in 1883, Page 1022). Piercy and wife buy Lots 27, 29, and 39 in Johnson City, Missouri? on October 15, 1884 from C.J. Younger; moved to Osceola, Missouri in 1885 and buy Lots 3 and 4 from A.M. Zebold in March 1885. Letter from Dr. Ruth Seevers to Gary Julian:  "Piercy Wheeler's [head]stone in the Osceola Cemetery bears the dates 1847-1896 and Margaret Wheeler, 1850-1932 [she is buried in Galveston, Cass Cty, Indiana, and the stone in Osceola had to get engraved by someone?].  My memory tells me they had a daughter living with them while in Osceola named Mamie.  She moved in my sister's young crowd and my sister was 89 last August.  Some day when I have time I will search the files of the local paper and if I find part of her family history in an obituary I will send it to you -- I am not county clerk - she handed me your letter because I am one of the old timers....  My sister was a brunette and Mamie a blonde.  They were considered the two best looking girls in town."  [Ruth was in her 90s in 1966] Letter from Lawrence Boots to his first cousin, Ruth Garrison Julian, in August 1965 (in possession of Gary Julian):  "About 1880 Piercy Wheeler moved to Johnson City, St. Clair, Missouri, where he opened a store.  His 2 daughters, Flora and Mayme attended the Appleton City Academy in Appleton City.  Flora graduated May 25, 1894.  Mr. Wheeler was elected to office of county clerk of St. Clair County in 1894 and died 2 years later on October 22, 1896.  He is buried at Osceola.  He was a Mason. On June 20, 1894, Flora married James Edgar Boots at Johnson City.  Mr. Boots had a store at Johnson City for years.  He was appointed Postmaster of Johnson City on August 6, 1897.  James and Flora had one son, Lawrence Wheeler Boots, born April 21, 1897 in Johnson City.  James and Flora moved to Meriam, Kansas about 1905."
