           59.  JOHN ARTHUR JR.5 PRATT (JOHN ARDEN4, GEORGE3, EBENEZER2, UNKNOWN1) was born July 16, 1861 in Jones Falls, Leeds, Ontario, Canada, and died January 30, 1937 in Lincoln, Osceola Co., Mich.  He married EMMA JANE SNIDER July 22, 1899 in Cedar Twp., Osceola Co., Michigan (Source: Osceola County Marriages, Vol. 2, p. 123.), daughter of ARTHUR SNIDER and LEFFIE PRATT.  She was born August 30, 1879 in Lincoln Twp., Osceola Co., Michigan, and died July 29, 1945 in Ashton, Osceola Co., Michigan.

      JOHN PRATT, 69, OF ASHTON, DIES
      Lifelong Resident Succumbs at Home of Son in Reed City Saturday
      ASHTON-- John Pratt, 69, lifelong resident of this vicinity, passed away Saturday morning at the home of his son, John A. Pratt, in Reed City, following an illness with the flu.
      Surviving are the widow; five sons, John Arden, Jesse, Orie, Clifford and Athur Pratt, all of Reed City; three daughters, Mrs, Ren Houseman, Mrs. Ed Decker, and Miss Nellie Pratt, all of Reed City; three sisters,  Mrs. William Moore of Reed City, Mrs. Willard Sage of Detroit and Mrs. Anna Blackman of Ontario; two brothers, Alonzo and Alec Pratt of Ashton; besides other relatives.
      Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Ashton Methodist church with the pastor, Rev. George Van Wingerden, officiating.  Interment took place in the Ashton cemetery.

      CHURUBUSCO, Ind.--John Arden Pratt, 71; of Churubusco, Ind., died Feb. 23 at his home there due to a heart condition.
      Mr. Pratt was born June 26, 1900, in Ashton where he later attended school.
      Mr. Pratt married Leola Campbell Nov. 10, 1926.
      He is survived by two sons, Gordon of Ft. Wayne, Ind. and Russell of Churubusco; two daughters, Mrs. Bernice Sweet of Ft. Wayne and Mrs, Valda Grein of Churubusco; three brothers , Chess, Clifford, Arthur, all of Reed City; and two sisters. Mrs. Letha Decker of Reed City and Nellie Cheeseboro of Morley.
      The funeral was at 2 P.M. Feb. 26 at Livingston Funeral Home with the Rev. Forrest Mohr officiating.  Burial was in Woodland Cemetery in Reed City.

      CHURUBUSCO, Ind.-- Leola K. Pratt , 83 of Churubusco, Ind., formerly of Reed City, died Wednesday, April 29, 1993 in Indiana.
      She was born May 24, 1909, in Reed City, the daughter of Miles and Vesta (Hasty) Campbell.  She was a resident of Shelbyville, Ind. and later Ft. Wayne, Ind.
      On Nov. 10, 1926 she married John Pratt.  He preceded her in death in 1972.
      Surviving are two sons, Gordon of Fort Wayne, Ind. and Russell of Churubusco, Ind.; two daughters, Berneice (Mrs. Marvin) Sweet of Big Rapids, and Valda (Mrs. Robert) Grein of Fort Wayne, Ind.; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and one sister, Dorothy Rosencrans of Hawkins.
      She was preceded in death by one sister and two grandchildren.
      Services will be 3 P.M. Sunday, May 2, at the Pruitt-Livingston Funeral Home of Reed City.  Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery of Reed City.
      Friends may call from noon on Sunday and until the time of services.

      JESSIE J.  PRATT
      Jessie J. Pratt, 75 of Reed City died at Reed City Hospital, Feb. 9, after a lingering illness.
      He was born Sept. 13, 1903 to John and Emma Snyder Pratt in Ashton, Michigan.
      He married Viola Church who survives.
      He was a resident of the Reed City-Hershey area all his life.  He was employed at Miller Industries until retirement in 1968.
      Survivors include three sons; John of Lansing, Donald of Flint, and Dale of Alamo Gordo, New Mexico.  Also one daughter, Mrs. Ronald (Darlene) Sherman of Grand Rapids.  Three brothers, Clifford, Arthur and Fritz all of Reed City also survive, as do two sisters, Mrs. Leaffie Decker of Reed City and Mrs. Nellie Chesebro of Morley, and thirteen grandchildren.
      Services were held Monday, Feb. 12, with the Rev. Eldor Panning officiating.  Burial was in the Oakdale Cemetery in Hersey.  Arrangements were by the Rogers-Livingston Funeral Home.

      VIOLA M. PRATT -REED CITY
      Viola M. Pratt, 75, of Reed City, died Wednesday, April 11, 1984, at Reed City Hospital.  She was born May 17, 1908, in Hersey, and had been a lifetime resident of the Reed City-Hersey area.  She was married June 26, 1935, to Jesse Pratt, who died in 1979.

      Surviving are three sons, John of Lansing, Donald of Flint and Dale of Alamogordo, N.M.; one daughter, Mrs. Ronald (Darlene) Sherman of Grand Rapids; 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

      Services were April 14 at Pruitt-Livingston Funeral Home with the Rev. Allan McCreedy officiating.  Burial was in Oaksdale Cemetery in Hersey.

      Funeral services were held Monday, September 21, from Livingston Funeral Home for Ora Pratt, 65, of Meadowview Village, Reed City.

      The Rev. Otto Zwanziger officiated and burial was in Ashton cemetery.  Mr. Pratt died in Reed City Hospital on September 18 following a year's illness.

      He was born in Ashton on July 29, 1905, the son of John Pratt and Emma Snyder Pratt.  He attended schools in the Ashton area.

      In 1929 he married  the former Cleva Church.  She preceded him in death in 1957.  Mr. Pratt married the former Katherine Lentz in 1958.

      He was a resident of the Reed City and Ashton area throughout his entire life and was a life-long employee of Sperling and Sons.  He was also employed as custodian at Meadowview Village.  Suerviving in addition to  (missing)

      Funeral services were Monday, Aug. 20, at 4 P.M., at the Pruitt-Livingston Funeral Home in Reed City, with the Rev. Richard Krugler officiating.
      Burial will be in the Ashton Cemetery.

      He was born September 13, 1915, in Ashton, and lived his entire life in the Reed City area.
      He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Reed City.
      He served with the U.S. Army during the World War II.  He was employed at Tubelite in Reed City from 1949 until becoming disabled in 1973.
      He was married Oct. 12, 1946, to Helen Illig, who survives.
      Also surviving are one son, John Sutherland of Williamson; two daughters, Mrs. John (Carol) Pratt of Lansing and Mrs. Robert  (Gloria) Robbins of Mason; two sisters, ruby Decker of Reed City and Nellie Chesebro of Morley; one brother, Fritz of reed City; six grandchildren, James Arthur, Steven, Jalayne, Rod, Deanna and Lindsey.
      Services were Saturday at Pruitt-Livingston Funeral Home with the Rev. Roger Marlow officiating.  Burial was in Ashton Cemetery.
      Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church.
