  Notes	Jacob Haller Born in Bern, Switzerland came to Cabbert, Vermont in 1833,  In Boston he met and married Elizabeth Kyburz, also from Switzerland. In 1836, Jacob started to Wisconsin on foot with 63 cents and an axe in his assets. His wife and baby followed later with a neighbor.  They landed in East Troy township, later paying $1.25 an acre for land, one of the first land grants given.  Jacob was one of five sons in the family at Bern.  The old family home at Bern was reported to be still standing and in good condition when Father Alfred Kaufmann, S.J. made his trip abroad in 1938.
