Comments: Hi.. Just a quick note to let you know I (Stanley Allan Cordy) can likely fill in some of the blanks on the Halladay side of your family tree. I'm the son of Mary Elizabeth (aka Marion) Cordy (nee Halladay). From the information I've found on your website and with confirmation from my mother, I am the great-grandson of "Big Jim" Halladay from Ashton, MI. To quickly fill in a couple of gaps. The baby born in 1934 to James Erastus Jr was named William James and lived only a few hours, apparently he died of cancer (as did his mother a year later in 1935). He is buried on the old family farm in South Crosby, near Lyndhurst, Ontario. He was never registered or christened. There is no marker. Meanwhile, James Jr. died of a heart attack in 1983 at Newbliss, Ontario (just south of Smith's Falls). Also...the tree shows Mary Elizabeth twice, once as the daughter of Addie May Michael (this connection is correct), and then of Etta Krick. Etta was her stepmother and Norman her natural son. Further, Norman's father was not James Jr. I believe Etta's first husband was Norman's father. Finally, for now...I know of another family tree that was researched by one my Mary's (Marion's) cousins here in Ontario. I don't know her name, and I'm not certain how complete it is, but my mother has a copy, and it may well fill in some of the other blanks. Hoping to hear from you soon ...
