Generation No. 4      69.  SARAH OLIVE5 PRATT (PHILANDER H.4, GEORGE3, EBENEZER2, UNKNOWN1) was born January 14, 1864 in Alnwick, Canada, and died April 14, 1897 in Napanee, Lennox & Addington Co., Canada.  She married WILLIAM EZRA SANFORD March 23, 1891 in Lennox and Addington, son of GEORGE SANFORD and SARAH LINDSAY.  He was born December 04, 1869 in Richmond, Canada. Notes for SARAH OLIVE PRATT: When I looked for Olive Pratt Sanford and her husband in the 1901 census I found him with a different wife named Bertha who was 9 yrs younger than he.  So I went to the death records to see if Olive died and she did--but it gave her full name as SARAH Olive Sanford!  So he married the oldest daughter, not the youngest.  She died 14 APR 1897, age 33 yrs 3 mos.  She died of an abcess of  7 mos. duration.  Informant was her brother-in-law C. W. Bowen.  Death rec. # 015043-97. I didn't find the daughter's birth, but I found a son:  William Oston Sanford born 15 DEC 1894 in Napanee, Lennox & Addington Co., ON.  Birth rec # 017359-94. I think the 2 children listed after the grandmother are Olive's for sure.  But the other one was born when she was still alive, also, so probably is hers.  No birth records found for the girls, even searching on parents' names, surname only, etc. Then I went back to the census and noticed more Sanfords I didn't copy before, so here's the whole fam damily in 1901: 35   179 Sanford William E. Sanford in the 1901 census I sent last night is incorrect.  She is Wm. Ezra Sanford's mother and her age in the 1881 census was 33 when he was 12.  Therefore, by 1901 she'd be closer to early 50's and that does make the children of Wm. Ezra and Olive (Pratt) her grandchildren.
