  Notes	(Research):Hi Sharon, Suppose you're wondering about the flurry of activity on the Pratts.  It all started with my getting the early census film (pre-1850) for Kitley Twp. in order to search for Ron Tackaberry's Haws family.  I've been working with him on that family for nearly 2 yrs now.  Since I had the film, I decided to scan all of the images from it so that I would have them for future reference. Then I had email from our Parish cousin in Denver, Ken Pratt.  He said he and Jewel wanted to come up to bring me some Pratt family photos and have lunch with me.  I hadn't seen them in person since around 1991.  So they came up 2 wks ago and we had a nice visit.  I told Ken that when I finished scanning all of the Kitley images I would send him the ones for the Pratts.  While going thru them I printed them off for you, also. Ken is still questioning whether George Pratt is the father of John Arden, in the absence of definite proof, so I gave him my take on it since I've researched in nearly every township in Leeds Co. in the early census records and the only Pratts are the ones in Kitley and Zadock Pratt in Augusta.  But in those days, unless they lived with access to water along the St. Lawrence or the Rideau River, they didn't travel far because there were no roads.  Kitley is an interior township.  So the fact that they were the only ones there early (Ebenezer & family) and the fact that the Wood family Olive belonged to were neighbors, the circumstantial evidence is there. After Ken & Jewel returned home I copied the Pratt info you shared with me last year and mailed that to him on Monday.  But one thing had been bugging me and that is how Philander Pratt could be George's son if George was dead by 1829 and he wasn't born until 1833?  Ken took all of the census records I sent to him and lined them out and Olive Pratt appears alone (without a husband) from 1929 on. And--if you look back as early as 1825 there are 4 sons under 16--so that would be Ebenezer, Addison, John Arden and ???.  Philander should not appear until after 1833.  I'll attach the file he sent me with the info.  It doesn't cover the last couple of years before Olive married Luke F. Day because he made it before I'd sent all of the scans.  This is why it is so critical to do the early censuses as it appears we're missing a son.  And Clarinda Day's obit said she had 5 brothers.  However, the Edward you gave me was born even later than Philander, so I'm 99% sure he does not belong in the family.  However, Ebenezer Jr. was old enough to have him as a son (b 1816 and wife b 1809).  He's probably related--just not the way originally thought. Since Ken will be 86 this month, I decided to stop what I was doing and get the info to him so he could work with it now.
