Miss Ruth Eileen Bush, daughter of Mrs Thomas W Berry, RFD2, Bellefontaine, and Private James Alvin Roby, son of the late Mr and Mrs Emmett  R Roby, were quietly married Wednesdayat 7:30pm in the home of Mr and Mrs Donald Woodard, RFD2, West Liberty, brother-in-law and sister of the bride.
Rev. Francis Cummins, pastor of the Bellefontaine Church of God, read the double ring service in the presence   of only the immediate families and a few close friends.
The exchange of vows was heard before the fireplace, decorated for the holiday season.  There was a center arrangement of white pompoms and pink snapdragons flanked by seven-branch candelabra.  Single lighted tapers were used  on either side of a round mirror on the mantel.
Attendants were Mrs Woodard and Don Bayliss of Bellefontaine, a cousin of the bridegroom.
There was a prelude of recorded music by Mrs Charles Wagner, at the organ of the Church of God, and Miss Dorothy Funk, who sang two selections, "Always" and "Because".
The bride wore a becoming frock of champaign beige wool jersey with navy accessories and a coursage of white roses.  Mrs Woodard was in silver gray with harmonizing accessories of pink and black.
Men of the party were attired in blue business suits.
The four tier wedding cake was served with mints and punch while the newly wedded couple recieved congratulations following the ceremony.
Private and Mrs Roby are enjoying a short wedding trip.  The former, who is stationed at Ft Monmouth, N.J., will report for duty there on Jan 3. He is a graduate of Washington high school at Lewistown and prior to his entrance in service was employed at Lyman's restraunt in this city.  Mrs Roby who was graduated from Bellefontaine high school in the class of 1950 and is employed at Merchants' Industries, Inc, expects to remain in her mother's home until spring.
