Funeral services of William Stears, 70, who died at his home Tuesday afternoon, December 4, Rev. J. C. Upton of Bristol, officiating. Interment was in the local cemetery.
William Stears, oldest son of William and Francis (Wright) Stears, was born near Boston, Lincolnshire, England, on June 5, 1853, and died December 2, 1923, being 70 years, five months, and twenty-seven days old. He came to America with his parents when seven years old and has made his home in Constantine and vicinity with the exception of a few years spent in the West.
He leaves to mourn their loss four sisters and two brothers: Mrs. M. Christian of Constantine, Mrs. Hattie Downs of North Star, Mrs. Lizzie Craner of Schoolcraft, and Mrs. Joseph of Three Rivers. Mr. George Stears and Mr. Frank Stears of Three Rivers, and a large number of nieces and nephews.
