Description: Hiram Weaver is my great-great-great grandfather. He died in 1874, NOT 1871. Someone interpreted 1871 by viewing Hiram's tombstone, which is pretty worn down & difficult to read. He died without a will and there was no death certificate (the county didn't start keeping records until 1876); however, I DID find Hiram's Kenosha County probate records which indicated his estate was probated in 1874. This makes the 1871 death year unlikely since I sincerely doubt the family would wait 3 years after his death to get things through probate.

Where did you find his birth information? I've traced back to Columbia County, NY where I found the baptism record for Hiram & Helen's 1st child (Henry Renselear - probably mis-spelled) in 1830, but I can't find anything for Hiram. I believe he had a brother named Horace. Both bought land in Kenosha County in 1848.

I'm descended as follows: Hiram - George (Orphenie) - Nellie (William Schultz) - Ross Schultz (Maria Cipar)- Vincent Schultz (Sylvia Schoettler) - me (Rita Schultz Davis). What family info I've been able to find is posted on the Ancestry.com website (Schoettler / Schultz). Hiram & his supposed brother Horace have been one of my special challenges since I can't find WHERE in New York State they came from. Hopefully someday!
